The Shadow Ring

Reunidos por primera vez en 1992 como una grupo de adolescentes rebeldes en la ciudad costera de Folkestone, Inglaterra, The Shadow Ring pasó los siguientes diez años construyendo un estilo deliberadamente poco ortodoxo de rock —abrasivo y fuera de lugar— impregnado de un lirismo seco y macabro, y con una inclinación por el minimalismo y las atmósferas inquietantes. Originally coming together in 1992 as a gang of unruly teenagers in the seaside town of Folkestone, England, The Shadow Ring spent the next ten years piecing together a deliberately unpolished style of rock—abrasive and off-kilter—laced with dry, macabre lyricism and a fondness for minimalism and eerie atmospheres. They quickly carved out a cryptic presence within the deeper fringes of the underground music scene, blending radical experiments in electronics, voice manipulation, and tape collage. Before calling it quits in 2002, The Shadow Ring left behind a body of work that included eight full-length LPs, a scattering of 7-inches, a trail of unruly live performances, and obscure zine features—all of which have contributed to their lasting cult aura. They regrouped for the first time in July 2024 for a show off the coast of New York, then made stops in Paris, London, and their hometown of Folkestone in the autumn. Now, they’re returning once more—for the festival we're organizing—and it might just be their last ever concert. The Shadow Ring will perform on saturday Mat 24th at Nadie Nunca Nada No.
